DREAL BOURGOGNE-FRANCHE-COMTÉ (DIRECTION RÉGIONALE DE L'ENVIRONNEMENT, DE L'AMÉNAGEMENT ET DU LOGEMENT)
A regional service of the French Ministry of the Environment, Energy and the Sea and the Ministry of Housing and Sustainable Habitat, the DREALs are responsible for making sustainable development a daily reality. The new map of the French regions has led to the merger of the DREALs, of which there are now 12. The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté DREAL continues to implement the State's environmental policy, promote citizen participation and inform and train citizens in the challenges of sustainable development. Planning, housing, biodiversity, water and aquatic environments, pollution and risk prevention, transport, climate and energy: the Regional Division's fields of action are numerous, and priority is given to the ecological and energy transition undertaken by the State. Today, these missions are carried out within the Greater Region, and the head office of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté DREAL is located in Besançon, but Dijon remains an associated site, and the desired change goes beyond the simple merger of the two DREALs. A new organization based on skill blocks will enable better management and even more efficient working. The new DREAL is divided into 7 regional departments, each employing over 400 people. Departmental units also anchor the DREAL at the local level, as close as possible to citizens!
