The association aims to perpetuate the breed of the Comtois draught horse. To this end, it monitors breeding techniques, organises exhibitions and competitions, and trains young people. It also acts as a bridge between sellers and buyers. In the 1920s, the horse found its place in the countryside of the Franche-Comté region with the farmers. Despite the arrival of tractors, it has never deserted the country and today represents the leading breed of draft horse in France.
