THE APOTHECARY'S OF THE HOSPITAL SAINT-JACQUES
Museum with two open rooms: the apothecary and the preparation room, similar to a kitchen in Besançon
In the heart of the Saint-Jacques hospital, a classical building dating back to the th century, is one of the oldest ancient pharmacies in France dating from the th and th centuries, formed by Apothecary Gascon. In what has now become a museum, two halls are open to us: Apothicairerie, a magnificent collection of tiles nestled in splendid woodwork, and the preparation room, similar to a kitchen, in which the apothecaries bureaucracies their potions and ointments. Visits are regularly offered by the Besançon Tourist Office to interested persons. You will also have the opportunity to make a hook by the nearby building, the Sanctuary of the Refuge. Built in 1686, this Baroque building, housed in a convent, has hosted many religious and residents.
