Cristel is a manufacturer of cookware and the French leader in removable handle cookware. For more than 30 years, it has been offering a range of top-of-the-range stainless steel products. The three collections of Cristel stainless steel cooking utensils, with fixed and removable handles (Mutine, Strate and Casteline) were awarded the "Origine France Garantie" label in December 2012. Its know-how is recognized by the distinction Entreprise du patrimoine vivant.

History. It all began in 1806. Frédéric Japy bought a mill and a vast piece of land on which he founded his watchmaking empire: the factory in Fesches-le-Châtel. This one will run out of steam with the war and the arrival of plastic in the 1950s.

The factory reopened in 1983 under the impetus of former employees and changed its name. We think of Cristal, then Chatel (for Fesches-le-Châtel). It will be Cristel.

In 1984, the Dodane couple gave a new lease of life to the cooperative, which was reborn with the Cook and Serve. At that time, the saucepan was still only a common kitchen utensil. It has no place in the beautiful shops where porcelain and crystal are sold. With the Cook & Serve, it will enter the big world.

The removable handles designed by Paul Dodane are sleek, fluid and elegant. When they disappear, we notice the purity of the design, the brilliance of the beautiful stainless steel. The pot becomes a serving dish, the Cristel pans invite themselves to the table.

From the 1990s onwards, Cristel's reputation spread beyond France's borders. Japan is particularly seduced by this French refinement. Innovations continue to emerge such as induction hobs.

The 2000s established the brand's success. The company confirms its leadership in France and multiplies its representations in more than thirty countries. Cristel products are available in department stores in Paris, Tokyo, Moscow, New York, London... Some of the biggest names in French gastronomy show their friendship for the brand.

The products. Casseroles, frying pans, sauté pans, with or without non-stick cooking, pots, wok, steamer element, pressure cookers, kitchen, serving and cutting utensils, teapots, coffee pots, kettles..

Employment. Cristel employs 80 people and has an annual turnover of €11 million, 25% of which is exported to 37 countries. This number can increase to a hundred from September to December to handle year-end orders.
