THE HALLS
Montbéliard's halles express all the regularity and symmetry characteristic of the German Renaissance.
Like the castle, the halls are impressive in their architecture. Built at the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century on the basis of earlier, more primitive wooden halls, they express the regularity and symmetry characteristic of the Germanic Renaissance. Among its functions, we will remember the Council of Regency and the Civil Court under the Revolution to find today its administrative functions. A stopover in the heart of the centre to be made while walking or shopping in the shops that now occupy the ground floor.
