CLAW MUSEUM
Museum of the pliers located in Montécheroux presenting the only witness of a prodigious artisanal and industrial adventure.
As early as 1780, the peasants of this village made clock-making tools at home, in a double activity. In the 19th century, the village became a workshop-village whose production diversified into pliers for all trades with 350 workers for about fifteen manufacturers and awards at prestigious national, international and universal industrial exhibitions.
In the 20th century, three factories employed 300 workers with blacksmiths who continued for the most part to work at home: an exceptional technology made the tools of Montécheroux a reference on all continents.
Since October 2017, the museum managed by the association Musons et Créons, remains the only witness of this prodigious artisanal and industrial adventure of over 220 years.
