PEQUIGNET
Pequignet is a French luxury brand. Through its luxury watches and jewellery, it perpetuates the great watchmaking tradition, which it combines with an innovative creative sense. Pequignet was awarded the Entreprise du patrimoine vivant distinction.
History. In 1973, in Morteau, in a region where the watchmaking tradition was gradually dying, Emile Pequignet founded the Pequignet brand, which he signed with his initials EP. When he entered the traditional watchmaking world at the age of 16, he combined talent with ambition. Honoured by five Golden Dials for the beauty of its Ladies' collections, Pequignet has established itself as the favourite brand of a whole generation of modern and elegant women. A great lover of horse racing, Emile Pequignet invented in 1984 the famous Moorea mesh (in homage to his mount), a hand-painted grain of steel polished with the bracelet. This bracelet will become one of the brand's icons, making Pequignet creations recognizable at first sight. In 2006, the Maison Pequignet inaugurated its own Haute Horlogerie laboratory equipped with the latest generation technologies and run by highly talented watchmaking engineers. In 2010 and 2011, the brand set up its manufacturing workshops and gave birth to an ultra-innovative mechanical movement combining reliability, precision and performance: the Royal Calibre. This unique calibre is entirely designed, developed and assembled in-house. A real watchmaking feat, it features a unique architecture. The royal lily then became the emblem of the Maison Pequignet. In 2012, two private investors bought the company and Laurent Katz, Chairman of the Executive Board and seasoned manager, breathed new life into the company's two flagship collections: the Pequignet collection, with its elegant and refined lines, and the Manufacture collection, equipped with the Royal Calibre, the flagship of the renaissance of French Haute Horlogerie. In 2017, the watch manufacturer was taken over by four employees.
