FONDREMAND CASTLE
This castle houses a museum of objects of daily life from the 1850s to the 1950s.
This castle, privately owned and open to visitors on request, is the pride and joy of the people of Fondremand. And it's easy to see why! It's impressive and well preserved. The owners are passionate about it and take great care of it. The oldest part, the keep, probably dates back to the 14th century. The structure was clearly defensive: there are virtually no windows, only loopholes scattered throughout the floors. The third floor of the building houses a museum of everyday objects from the 1850s-1950s. On the courtyard side, the keep is flanked by a 15th- and 16th-century turret with a spiral staircase. Also worth a visit: the rest of the buildings, remodeled in the 18th century, house the former kitchens and stables, which have been superbly preserved.
