THE HOTEL-GOD
In 1715, Louis XIV, by letters patent, authorised the construction of the hospital, between 1722 and 1750, by the architect Bisontin Tripard, according to a plan in the Greek cross. He now hosts a retirement home. Visitors can discover the chapel, its beautiful woodwork, a master altar classified historic monument and remarkable paintings of the th and th centuries. The building also houses a apothicairerie and a beautiful collection of th and th-century earthenware pots from Nevers or Igny, wooden pots and glass pots. Visit on request at the Tourist Office.
