Since the French revolution, the inhabitants of Gy wanted to have a large common house. You have to wait 1845 to find the right place. It was the architect, Alphonse Delacroix, who was responsible for the drawing. The ground floor comprises a council room, a cabinet for the mayor, a secretariat and a room for the archives. The floor is served by a beautiful stone staircase and was used for annual festivities, such as harvest. The façade, in the neoclassical style, is imposing and remarkable.
