We have to go back to the time of Louis XVI to know the genesis of this famous biscuit. This sweet was a hit with the king and Queen Marie-Antoinette. At the time of the Revolution, the king's cook fled and found refuge with the Lanternier family, in a small village in eastern France... Montbozon! Since then, the recipe for the royal biscuit has been passed down from generation to generation and the secret of the recipe is jealously guarded. So much for the legend!
