This chapel, perched on the Bourlémont hill in Ronchamp, was designed by architect Le Corbusier.
Built between 1953 and 1955, perched on the hill of Bourlémont in Ronchamp, this Catholic chapel was the brainchild of the specially commissioned architect Le Corbusier. Erected on the site of an ancient Roman sanctuary, the chapel was to be rebuilt on top of the former one, which had been destroyed several times. Despite being an atheist, Le Corbusier agreed, and every year 69,000 visitors come from all over the world to see it.
