What a good gourmet address! One word of order : go there !
For 70 years now, this institution with the appearance of a bourgeois brasserie has been delighting gourmands and gourmets. The Chiopot team excels in the art of serving and satisfying its customers.
The Chef concocts a typical local cuisine with ingredients of a rare quality. The plate of Spanish mussels au gratin with hazelnut butter is to die for and is part of the 22 € menu: do not hesitate!
The pan-fried soup and chorizo with garlic and Espelette pepper is also a good option - 14€20, as is the cream of porcini mushrooms with foie gras and black pudding crisp, 12€50.
The meats are exceptional and the cooking in the fireplace mastered:
Grilled skirt steak - about 350g - and home fries with light garlic and parsley with mixed salad, 14€.
Every day of the week, the Chef offers suggestions that vary according to the market: scallop and salmon terrine with herbs, Landes asparagus with truffle butter, pan-fried veal T-bone with cream of mushroom and port wine, poached salmon with fine herbs, strawberry crisp, to name but a few.
To end the feast, the pancakes are simply soft and fragrant and the gingerbread crème brûlée - 5,80 €, to try.
We can't wait for the summer to add to the pleasures in the small shady garden (60 seats). The wine cellar offers a wide range of French and foreign appellations with more than 250 references at prices that are sure to please you.
The Pessac-Léognan Angelot de Seguin 2005 is simply divine.
Finally, the epicureans will find their happiness in a cellar to damn the finest Cognac lovers (Richard from Hennessy or Louis XIII from Rémy Martin, excuse the pun!), Armagnacs (some of which are as old and esteemed as the house), whisky (bourbons, whiskey, irish, blended, pure single malt) and other liqueurs.
Bonne cuisine. Service efficace et plaisant. Petites attentions offertes (chocolats, rose rouge).
Le pâtissier a refait le coulant Chocolat car pour lui il n'était pas réussi.
Achalandage de rhum impressionnant
