An establishment showcasing artisanal gingerbread and a tour to discover the origins of gingerbread.
Since 1768, the Maison Fortwenger has been producing home-made gingerbread that is a delight for both young and old gourmets! Its Gingerbread Palace seems straight out of the tale of the Brothers Grimm, Hansel and Gretel. The visit takes place by following a fun and interactive trail which allows you to discover, by following a friendly Mannele (little gingerbread man), the origins of gingerbread through 8 enchanting spaces spread over 800 m2. The visit ends with the discovery of the Fortwenger manufacturing workshops. Afterwards, all that remains is to take a tour of the shop, which is full of all sorts of gingerbread, but also biscuits, jams, chocolates, regional alcohols, pottery, tablecloths and other typically Alsatian decorative objects.
