Vegetables, grilled meat and fish or tapas served in a Mediterranean restaurant with a courtyard garden in Bordeaux.
Casa Gaïa - Maison de la Terre mère - is a restaurant that links producers, local and organic breeders (98%!) and "citizen-eaters" in order to respect ecosystems through a Mediterranean-inspired cuisine that evolves every three weeks. It is lively, locavore, fresh, seasonal, made with local and organic products bought directly from producers, from field to plate. The vegetables, meat and fish grilled over a wood fire are specialties of the establishment!

The food was very fresh and tasty. Flavors are pan-Mediterranean with parsley, cumin, tomato, chickpeas, greens and vegetables being common for their February menu (not sure how often it changes) We had the Belle Saison, Parmesan Risotto (a little spicy), weekly fish special (hake) and rare sliced steak with above mentioned vegetables. For dessert the chocolate mousse/ cake/ brownie with Chantilly cream and stone fruit sauce.
The location is nice, you do have to walk a bit as it is in the pedestrian only/ restricted area. The building was lovely and felt very Mediterranean.
