Inaugurated in 1938, the Parc Lescure has an Art Deco architecture. Renamed the Jacques Chaban-Delmas stadium in 2001, it has hosted many sporting events, including the 1938 and 1998 football World Cups and the 1999 and 2007 rugby World Cups. FC Girondins were the resident club since 1958, until they moved to the Matmut Atlantique, after playing their last match on 9 May 2015. Union Bordeaux Bègles (UBB), a major rugby club, is now the resident club. The stadium is easily accessible by public transport.
