The Conseil d'Architecture, d'Urbanisme et de l'Environnement (CAUE) is an association with a public service mission. The CAUE advises, informs and educates private individuals on the quality of their living environment. It offers free appointments with architects, landscape architects and a legal expert for any construction, development, extension or restoration project, on both technical and administrative levels. If you're thinking of extending your home, building a guest house on your land, or any other project requiring expertise, think about consulting this organization, which offers a free service that is often very expensive. The CAUE also regularly organizes educational activities to raise awareness among young people of the importance of preserving the environment and its history: lectures on architecture, tours of medieval Bordeaux...
