SAINT-BRUNO CHURCH
Cardinal François de Sourdis decided to build the Saint Bruno church in 1599. He drained the marsh and, a few years later, connected the building to his palace by creating a vast area planted with trees and meadows. The Saint-Bruno church remains the only intact element in the Convent of Des. Interior decoration is particularly remarkable. The facade of the church is inspired by Italian style and, inside, one can admire two statues, one of the Virgin made by Bernini father, and the other of the Archangel Gabriel by Bernini son. The cemetery at Chartreuse was opened in 1806 and hosts several important characters.
