VICTOR HUGO COURSE
The Cours Victor-Hugo is lined with superb 18th century private mansions
The Cours Victor-Hugo, guarded by the imposing Porte de Bourgogne, is lined with superb 18th century mansions. What strikes you first are the pavements, wide and beautifully paved in shades of grey, the traffic lanes, carefully designed and preserving a clean space for each mode of travel. Note the 104 silver linden trees that form a luminous path along this artery. Also enticing is the small square at the level of the rue des Menuts, with its Egyptian fountain which reproduces a statue on display at the Musée d'Aquitaine.
