THE RED PIT LAWN
The Red Pit lawn, formerly known as "orchid grass", has a real botanical interest: At the time of flowering, in May and June, some different species of orchids grow here. It is therefore a place that feels good nature… the site is managed by the General Council in order to implement actions that reconcile the preservation of the natural heritage and the reception of the public. In 2011, a trail was built to discover the riches of the site: orchids, amphibians, breeding birds, but also an important military heritage. Equipment and shelters in a singing nature for a beautiful walk!
The Association Belfortaine de la Protection de la Nature (ABPN) organizes spring naturalist outings in the discovery of flora and fauna.
