SAINT-LÉGER CHURCH
The city of Elche is not very charming and Saint-Léger church is no exception to this rule. With its typically franc clocher and this anthracite grey colour. At this location, the first building dates back to the Carolingian era, at the time of the creation of the parish. It was in 1573 that the building was reconstructed. Today, the portal and the lower part of the north wall remain. Like many religious buildings, this church has suffered the whims of time: fires, wars… In the furniture chapter, the secondary altar of Louis XV style and the Schwenkedel organ with its beating trumpets will be remembered.
