THE MINING TRAIL
A walk on a Vosges mountain slope, with panoramic views over the Savoureuse valley.
Intense mining activity transformed the landscape during the 16th century: digging was done to extract the ore, wood was needed to transform it, and water was needed to power the machines. Remains of this exploitation associated with the presentation of the different elements of the forest massif have allowed the creation of a discovery path, today marked out. As soon as you leave Giromagny, this walk in the undergrowth on this side of the Vosges mountains is very beautiful. Halfway along, you can admire the panorama of the Savoureuse valley.
