PRIEURÉ SAINT-BENOIT DE CHAUVEROCHE
Hotel with modern rooms offers meals to be enjoyed in the cottage.
The Benedictine priory of Saint-Benoît de Chauveroche was founded in 1980 by the abbey of la Pierre-qui-Vire, in the Yonne. It was the creation of the new diocese of Belfort-Montbéliard that led the brothers in 1980 to settle in this place. It was ideally chosen: both in the wilderness and relatively close to a large population. The insertion in the local Church and the ecumenical concern guided the approach of the brothers of Chauveroche. The proximity of the country of Montbéliard and Alsace, historically with a strong Protestant presence, explains the importance given to ecumenical relations experienced by the community. If you wish to stay at the priory to share the prayer, the silence and the life of the brothers, please make your request in writing or call a few weeks before. Please note that stays are limited to a maximum of six days, preferably from Monday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.
Services : Vigils at 5:00 am, Lauds at 7:30 am, Mass at 9:30 am (10:00 am on Sundays), mid-day prayer at 12:15 pm, Vespers at 6:00 pm, Compline at 8:30 pm.
Reception : 10 rooms only, hence the need to reserve well in advance the desired date of your stay. Possibility of sharing meals with the brothers. There is a cottage for groups near the priory.
Store : sale of crosses made by the brothers from precious woods with exotic names that pay homage to creation and an important bookstore of religious works.
