MOULIN D'ANDÉ - ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL CENTRE
Built at the end of the 12th century and classified as a historic monument, the Andé mill was a priori a supply centre for the garrisons present at Château-Gaillard des Andelys. A seigneurial property in the Middle Ages, the site passed from hand to hand. Suzanne Lipinska, president of the cultural association created in 1962, has succeeded in making the site a place of encounter and creation. Writers, filmmakers and composers have left their mark in this wonderful corner of greenery where Jeanne Moreau and François Truffaut shot Jules and Jim, Romy Schneider and Jean-Louis Trintignant on Le Combat dans l'île, and Robert Enrico for Au cœur de la vie. Today, the rich programme includes concerts, screenings, shows, readings, meetings with writers, conferences.... But the Mill also welcomes you for accommodation and food. More than 30 rooms are open to you to spend a night, a weekend, especially during the Alexandre Paley festival in spring. In the 15-hectare park, walk to the belvedere from where you will have an incredible view of the meanders of the Seine. A magnificent place to rest for a few hours, or a few days, and leave refreshed!
