THE BELFRY OR CLOCK TOWER
The belfry, just a stone's throw from the town hall, offers a glimpse into the town's history
Close to the town hall, the Maison des arts and the theater, discover a little piece of the town's history and listen to the Louyse chime. Standing proudly at the edge of the promenade de l'Iton, the Évreux belfry, also known as the Tour de l'Horloge, is one of the last two belfries in Normandy, and one of the most southerly in France, as such constructions are rare outside Flanders, northern France and Belgium. The clock dates from 1813.
