An original museum to discover the techniques of comb-making, a collection of combs, and ornaments proposed.
Discover the techniques and the forgotten gestures of the peigne by visiting this original museum. Taking advantage of the driving force of water that could handle all kinds of machines, the inhabitants of Ézy and the surrounding area once again specialised in the manufacture of combs. Firstly, the peigne became an industry in the 19th century, until its decline with the growth of plastic. The arrival of the railway and the proximity of Paris favoured the purchase of the raw materials (ivory, bull horns, turtle scales…) and, of course, in return, the sale of finished products! The comb then becomes an object of art. Set in the old factory, the museum offers workshops from the 5th to the 19th centuries, video animations, the collections of combs and adornments are organised in rooms. The place has a garden where you can picnic and a shop. The museum offers various events throughout the year (information on the museum site).
