ST. MARTIN DE CARBEC CHAPEL

Chapel surrounded by a cemetery with a century-old yew tree, with an 11th-century nave, bell tower, and pyramidal roof with a weathervane.
The chapel rises in the picturesque Vilaine valley, where François Truffaut shot scenes for La Chambre verte (1978). The building, whose nave was built in the 11th century, was placed under the patronage of the Abbot of Grestain, Lord of Carbec. The bell tower is topped by a pyramidal roof topped by a weather vane. The chapel is surrounded by a cemetery with a century-old yew tree and a beautiful hosannere cross. You can find the tomb of Jacques Lanzmann (1927-2006), lyricist of Jacques Dutronc, to whom we owe Il est cinq heures, Paris s’éveille.
