Tower built in 1204 with 4-meter thick walls and ruins at its side, after the conquest of the Duchy of Normandy.
The Tour Grise de Verneuil is the most spectacular vestige of the town's medieval fortifications, built by Philippe Auguste in 1204 after the conquest of the Duchy of Normandy. The ruins next to the tower, the last vestiges of the medieval castle dismantled by Louis XIII in the 17th century, are known as La Fauconnerie. Built in grison, with walls 4 meters thick and 22 meters high, it still looks great today. Tip: take the footbridge over the river and discover the André Faugère park.
