Museum in La Couture-Boussey with magnificent instrument collections, workshops, and events.
From the 17th century onwards, the "couturiot" basin saw the birth of numerous wind instrument workshops, the flagship activity of this small rural area until the 1950s, with both family workshops and production plants. The museum was founded in 1888 by the luthiers and craftsmen of La Couture-Boussey, to record the raw materials and manufacturing techniques of the wind instruments they made. It was an instrument-making training tool for young apprentices. Today, visitors can discover a magnificent collection of over 250 instruments: flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, flageolets, English horns and theatre cuckoos. The museum organises numerous workshops and events, especially for children during the school vacations, and the tour includes a musical audioguide so you can hear what the instruments sound like! Specialised tours for disabled visitors. We love the work done by this team, who make technical and musical know-how that might otherwise be considered the preserve of specialists accessible to all.

On recommande vivement !!
