Abbey of Mortemer with a park, housing a museum in the basement that is worth visiting, with historical stories and legends
An air of mystery hangs over Mortemer Abbey! Nestled in the heart of the Lyons forest, this timeless site leaves no one indifferent. As you stroll through the grounds, you’ll admire the ruins of the 12th century Cistercian abbey, the largest of its time, set in a park of ponds and dovecotes. In the basement of the building, the museum lets you discover the historical stories and legends of the Dame Blanche and the Célibataires fountain. Continue your walking tour along the ponds and stop for a spot of fly-fishing!

Beautiful walk around the lakes. Take the the small detour through the woods to see the sculptures of French Kings.
Presented in a very French style, quite lunike a typical National Trust property.
