PENITENT CLOISTER
This penitential cloister, built in 1946, is a unique site in Louviers, home to the Conservatoire de la Musique.
Just around the corner from the collegiate church, slightly off-center from the town center, discover a unique site: Europe's only cloister built on water, the Pénitents cloister was built in 1646 and has seen a variety of uses. Convent of the Saint-François order, boys' school, prison... It now houses the music conservatory. It's not open to the public, but you can get a good view of it from the street, and during the conservatory's opening hours, it's possible, with a bit of luck, to ask for access.
