This church was dedicated in 1129 by Baudri de Bourgueil, Bishop of Dol.
It was around the beginning of the 12th century that the village of Marais-Vernier began to be structured. The consecration of Saint-Laurent Church is proof of this. The church was dedicated in 1129 by Baudri de Bourgueil, bishop of Dol; but a large part of the building was rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries. The gabled wall facade is preceded by a porch with a double-sided roof. A bell tower with a square plan flanks the south face.
