ATELIER DE RELIURE BASANE D’OR
It is a small window on the edge of the road, behind it hides the workshop of a master bookbinder, Gérard Grucker, lover of books, first of all their contents, to the point of wanting to surround them, pamper them, offer them a set of leather. Attracted by the written thing as by a magnet, it is in Strasbourg that he does his apprenticeship, then spend his low emoluments in the bookshops based on his passage, and then devour the paper on his journey back by train. Since the master of his art, he spends his days in the middle of leather: sheepskin for sheep, Moroccan or goat grief (most luxurious leather), rares and rare papiers papers, bones, cutter and press in Leipzig, fers to fine gold. It offers a binding to all kinds of works that its clients entrust to them for the sublime, and to be less fragile when they are manipulated. Between these moments of creation, the master, who loves nature as much as reading, is driven by forests to breathe the beauty of the world.
