CASTLE OF LAUNAY
The Château de Launay is one of the few Regency period castles in the region.
One of the few Châteaux eras in the region. A nice walk allows you to walk on foot from Saint-Georges du Vièvre, while making a 5 km loop in the surrounding countryside. Classified Historic Monument, the castle dates back to 1720. The owner of the ground floor, the chapel built under Louis XIV, and the octagonal pigeon house adorned with beautiful wooden panelling on the inner beams. It was completely dismantled, taken to Caen to be restored and then raised in the 1940 s, a beautiful technical feat!
