BEAUMONT FORTIFIED FARM
Beaumont Farm is one of the largest fortified farms in Normandy, a superb listed architectural complex, composed of buildings in ashlar, brick, stubble and half-timbered, dating from the 16th century and listed. From the Renaissance period, the fortified part was rebuilt from 1570 by Pierre le Normand, it includes an impressive circular dovecote that still has part of its 1,300 bunches, and two corner turrets. Notice the gunboats, testifying to the defensive will of the enclosure, probably during the Wars of Religion. About fifty metres long and ten metres high, the huge barn is covered with thatch, covered with cob and has imposing oak beams. The complex is articulated around a rectangular courtyard.
