CASTLE OF BEAUMESNIL AND BOOKBINDING MUSEUM
Built between 1633 and 1640, by Jacques de Nonant for his wife Marie Dauvet Desmaret, Beaumesnil Castle (dit le Mesnil Royal often referred to as Versailles Normand) is exceptional by its Louis XIII style and its elegant façade facade. Located on the ruins of the old feudal castle, the remains of the dungeon remain in the middle of the moat. In the 60 hectare wooded park and French gardens (designed by La Quintinie, assistant agronomist of Le Nous), you will find vast basins and a strange box labyrinth on the old feudal motte. The interiors of this castle are furnished and located on the first floor, the Reliure museum. Behind windows, discover on 200 m 2 of many related works, gathered by the last owner Jean Fürstenberg. Let us take over over the centuries thanks to the numerous works of binders, from the th century to the present. The Orangerie, facing the castle, is a reception and reception area. You can thus dream the time of a reception! The castle hosts various events during the year, such as the exhibition of antique dealers and antiques, exhibitions, concerts, staging championships, horse riding, etc. The castle also opens its doors at Easter and offers an egg hunt and entertainment around chocolate.
