AVRILLY DUNGEON
The ruins, recently open to the public, of a beautiful medieval fortress, reminiscent of Rhone's dungeons, and Harcourt castle (family to which the fief of Avrilly belonged in the th century). During your visit you will discover the motte, the remains of the stone dungeon, the lower courtyard, two towers, the fortified entrance and deep ditches of 12 metres. The fortress, burned and overthrown by English in 1418, was never rebuilt. Cherry on the cake: the volunteers who have embarked on the restoration and the opening to the public of the castle provide visits in medieval costume, diving in the guaranteed time!
