Travel in mosses, stone and prehistory. Above the small isolated hamlet of Aveny, accessible by a forest trail, the megalithic gangway covered is the oldest monument known in Normandy, built around 2500 - 2000 before our era. It is a kind of funeral monument made up of three dollied dolmens, a building rarely observed in the region, especially in a beautiful conservation state. This extremely rare one has been classified in the inventory of Historical Monuments since 1907. During your visit you will discover a burial chamber of 6 meters long and a smaller vestibule. But the megalithic gangway is mostly famous for its carved sculpture waiting for visitors at the entrance. The latter could represent a divinity of fertility, with only 5 similar copies in the world.
