A blend of architectural heritage and contemporary art, Château de Vascœuil dates back to the 12th century (a sumptuous octagonal tower remains), and was modified in the 15th century. The beautiful dovecote dates from the 17th century. The French park is home to over 60 sculptures by the greatest artists (Braque, Dalí, Volti, Vasarely...), assembled and exhibited in a park of almost 8 hectares. Now a Centre of Art and History, the site is home to France’s only Jules Michelet Museum and a major modern art exhibition every year.

Opening time and information on WOJEWEL CASTLE
Open from April to early November, Wednesday to Sunday and public holidays, 2:30 pm to 6 pm. Open daily in July and August from 11am to 6:30pm. Free for children under 6. Adults: €13.50. Children (aged 7 to 16): €9 (+ students, disabled and unemployed). 12€ for a 20-minute guided tour + free time or 13.50€ for a 60-minute guided tour + free time. EXHIBITION 2021 : THE FABLES OF LA FONTAINE SEEN BY 17 PAINTERS OF THE DRAGONFLY MOVEMENT

In 2004, Lukas Kándl created "Libellule, Renaissance Contemporaine" with figurative painters who refer to the great masters of the past, both in inspiration and technique.The international dimension of the group makes it possible to discover the specificities of the different cultures of each of the members who work on common themes:in 2021, the Fables of La Fontaine (1621-1695) for the 400th anniversary of the poet's birth.
When they were published in 1668, the Fables were successful because of their narrative strategy - using animals to criticize and denounce the major problems of the time - and also because of their illustrations, since the images had an immediate and lasting impact. They are still relevant today.
They are part of our cultural heritage and their morals are part of popular wisdom.
17 artists have "interpreted" them in their own way (fantastic, surrealism and symbolism): The cicada and the ant, The crow and the fox, The wolf and the lamb, The frog that wants to be as big as the ox, The hare and the frogs...and so many more. About sixty paintings where each artist expresses himself in the fantastic art, the surrealism and the symbolism through the beautiful painting
