SAN MARTIN CHURCH
The church of Saint-Martin, located in Cany-Barville, presents a great variety of colors of a beautiful gaiety and a statue.
Three times destroyed, first by the English in 1415, then by the Dieppe Protestants in 1562 and 1589, this church was rebuilt at the end of the 16th century and often restored since. Despite its name, it is not Saint Martin but Saint Adrian who watches over the inhabitants. According to legend, his polychrome wooden statue saved the village from the plague and cholera. The exterior of the sandstone building is very sober, but the interior has a great variety of colors, giving a beautiful cheerfulness to this church. Worth a visit!
