Museum housing a collection of carved ivories, with paintings recounting the maritime adventures of the town of Dieppe.
The site was built by Captain Desmarets after 1435 to defend the town against the English during the Hundred Years' War. Serving as the governor's residence and garrison, the château became the Dieppe Museum in 1923. Here you'll discover an exceptional collection of carved ivories, as well as beautiful maps from Dieppe's famous school of cartography, ship models and paintings recounting the town's maritime adventures, from the great expeditions of the 16th century to the liners of the 20th. At the top, enjoy the view of the city and the cliffs.

Très belle collection d'objets en ivoire. Quelques tableaux de grands maitres mais limités. Personnel pas souriant.
Visite non indispensable si on ne reste pas longtemps sur Dieppe. A faire jour de mauvais temps !
