NOTRE DAME CHURCH
This church has preserved its portal and nave from the Romanesque period of the 11th and 12th centuries.
A model of the Anglo-Norman novel, Notre-Dame Church still preserves its portal and its Romanesque nave from the 11th and 12th centuries. The bell tower-lantern dates from the 12th and 13th centuries. It rests on four compound pillars, joining in an octopartite vault with eight Gothic windows. The current choir is located under this tower, but the old one is located behind it, and is in Gothic style, as are the side choirs. The vaults were redone in the 19th century. The dimensions of the building, built in the form of a Latin cross, are harmonious and reminiscent of the large churches of the time that belonged to abbeys. Significant resources have been devoted to this church to mark the site. Around it, the cemetery of the municipality is also an important Commonwealth cemetery dating from the First World War. Among them, seven graves from the Second World War, including three of German soldiers. May they all rest in peace.
