LA GUILLETTE - MAUPASSANT'S HOUSE
La Guillette plunges you into the life of Guy de Maupassant in the midst of a preserved garden.
Guy de Maupassant’s mother Laure, who had initially lived in the villa Les Verguies, acquired the land in the Grand Val in 1872 to create a vegetable garden with a cabin. A few years later, the young Guy held parties in this cabin, where his friends flocked. In 1882, he became the owner and built what was to become La Guillette. It was here that he wrote his first novel, Une vie. The visit immerses you in his life, in the midst of this preserved garden.
