A masterpiece of Gothic art, this flamboyant church is a must-see in Eu.
"I’ve seen bigger, I’ve seen higher, but I’ve never seen more beautiful," said Viollet-le-Duc. A masterpiece of ogival and early Gothic art, built between 1186 and 1240, it was restored in the flamboyant style after the fire of 1426. It is 80 m long, 17 m wide and 21 m high, with a 31 m long crypt. The building is famous for its many remarkable works, most of which are listed as Monuments Historiques: a 16th-century polychrome mise au tombeau, and the organ by Louis Isoré dating from 1614.
