ST. LAWRENCE CHAPEL
Nineteenth-century chapel on a hill overlooking Eu with a beautiful view, where the Archbishop of Dublin, Laurence O’Toole, admired the city.
This chapel marks a highly symbolic place. Indeed, it is here at the top of this hill that dominates the city of Europe that the Archbishop of Dublin, Laurent O’Toole, whose memory is honoured both in Ireland and in Normandy, contemplated for the first time the city that was going to become his burial place, in 1180. Like him, admire the panoramic view of the Eudoise city, on Mers-les-Bains, on Le Tréport, and on the Bresle Valley: how do you not fall under the spell? The chapel may appear at first glance as it dates from the 17th century, but it replaces a series of older religious monuments built here since. You can reach it via the Rue de l’Europe by car, or by walking along the road extending by the lime oven.
