GALLO-ROMAN SITE OF THE WOOD-ABBE
This ancient settlement of some 50 hectares in Eu is an inexhaustible mine of information and ancient artifacts.
This site, discovered at the end of the 18th century by chance during the construction of a road through the forest of Eu, is an inexhaustible mine of information and ancient objects. It is an ancient settlement of about 50 hectares called Briga, active from the 1st to the 3rd centuries. Studied by Abbot Cochet (a famous regional archaeologist) during the 19th century, the site has already revealed remains of dwellings, Gallo-Roman temples, baths, and theatres. An introduction to excavation techniques, archaeological prospecting, games in antiquity, and the making of a fibula are offered from the age of 7. Provide comfortable clothing and good shoes.
