LE PORT DE MEYRAN

This port was established on the banks of the Estey de Meyran, and for many years was used only as a beaching port. Dedicated to fishing and oyster farming, the port of Meyran served as a terminal from 1919 to 1935 for a railway line carrying mining poles from the Gironde and Landes forests. The poles were then towed on boats pulled by two tugboats in rotation to the port of Arcachon. Today, the port is dedicated to oyster farming.
Other ports in Gujan-Mestras: Port de La Hume (marina), Port de Gujan, Port de Larros, Port du Canal, Port de la Barbotière, Port de la Mole.
