ROUEN DOOR
The Rouen Gate is a construction from the Hundred Years' War that important excavations have revealed. To the west was the port and town of Harfleur, protected by a moat spanned by a drawbridge that led to the Deer Gate, formed by two gigantic towers. The drawbridge led outside to a boulevard of stones, laid on an island fortified by a curtain wall and four towers. Then, in this curtain wall, we arrive at another door with a drawbridge spanning the same ditch filled with water. A reconstruction of the whole can be found on the town hall website.
