Museum presenting archaeological excavations, funerary urns, collections of the early Middle Ages, and objects of adornment
The Priory Museum is housed in the Hôtel des Portugais, a former inn built in the 15th century. The collections come mainly from archaeological excavations carried out on the Gallo-Roman sites and include glassware dating from the 1st to the 4th century. The collections from the early Middle Ages include weapons from a 6th century burial site. This is an ideal place to learn about Harfleur's past! Also, the spiral staircase and the timber-framed floor are simply sumptuous.
