PORT PETROLIER DU HAVRE-ANTIFER
To accommodate the huge vessels carrying oil, a special port was built 30 km from Le Havre: the Terminal terminal. If you are not advised to get down to the terminal entrance, a little detour to watch this high facility is an opportunity to get acquainted with an original infrastructure. The history of the place is just as much! During the closure of the Suez Canal, following the Six-Day War in 1967, oil tankers connecting the Middle East were required to extend their routes drastically, passing through the Cape of Good Hope. For these long journeys to take place, giant tankers were built, and the Etretat terminal was the only one able to welcome them. Alas, at the time of its opening, the canal was opened again, and the utility of the terminal was therefore called into question. However, some of these marine giants unload their cargo, which is refined a little further. They can observe their slow manoeuvre from the cliffs of Saint-Jouin-Bruneval.
